The SMA Sunny Island X 50 is the most powerful model in the new Sunny Island X series. With 50 kW rated power and up to 60 kW peak power, it offers maximum capacity for large commercial and industrial storage systems. The true 3-phase battery inverter is modularly scalable into the megawatt range.

The SMA Sunny Island X 50 delivers 50 kW continuous power and up to 52 kW for 30 minutes or 60 kW peak power for 3 seconds. High output current of 75.5 amps per phase handles demanding industrial loads. Maximum efficiency of 98% guarantees economical operation.
Optimized for High-Voltage Batteries
DC voltage range of 350 to 980 volts at rated power is perfect for modern high-voltage battery systems. Integrated DC-DC converter enables compatibility with Li-ion batteries from various manufacturers via Modbus TCP or CAN bus. Maximum DC current of 150 A enables fast storage cycles.
Scalable to Megawatt
With Sunny Island X Connection Box, multiple Sunny Island X 50 can be combined into large off-grid or backup power systems. As System Manager, single Sunny Island X supports up to 11 devices, with Data Manager M up to 50 devices are possible.
Comprehensive Energy Management
Integrated Hybrid Controller offers functions such as self-consumption optimization, peak shaving, black start, diesel-off mode and generator management. Synchronization to external AC sources like grid or generator occurs automatically.
