The Sungrow AC22E-G2 is the next generation of intelligent charging solutions with EMC protection class B certification. This professional 22 kW wallbox with a Type 2 socket and integrated MID meter is specifically designed for use in public and semi-public areas, but is also ideal for private applications. The flexible socket solution allows for the use of charging cables in custom lengths.
EMC protection class B for professional applications
The outstanding feature of the Sungrow AC22E-G2 is its EMC protection class B certification. This classification qualifies the wallbox for safe use in public areas and ensures minimal electromagnetic interference. With a configurable charging power of 22 kW or 11 kW for a 3-phase connection and 7.4 kW for a 1-phase connection, the wallbox offers maximum flexibility. The Type 2 socket allows the use of custom charging cables – for example, a 7.5 m cable, available separately.
MID-certified electricity meter for legal metrology-compliant billing
The Sungrow AC22E-G2 comes standard with an integrated MID-certified electricity meter with Class B measurement accuracy. This enables legal metrology-compliant billing of charging sessions – essential for public charging points, company parking lots, apartment buildings, or commercial applications. The maximum charging current is 32 A at 22 kW and 7.4 kW power, and 16 A at 11 kW power. The flexible grid voltage tolerance of ± 20 percent ensures stable operation even during grid fluctuations.
Intelligent Load Management and App Control
The Sungrow AC22E-G2 offers adaptive load management (ALM) to prevent overloads. With an additional external electricity meter, the system continuously analyzes the total load and dynamically adjusts the charging power. You can conveniently control and monitor the wallbox from your smartphone using the iEnergyCharge app. The LED display on the device also provides information about the current status. Firmware updates are available over-the-air (OTA).
Versatile authentication and OCPP compatibility
The Sungrow AC22E-G2 supports various authentication methods: plug & play for easy charging, RFID cards (Mifare ISO 14443 A) for contactless authorization, or the iEnergyCharge app for smartphone-based control. OCPP 1.6J compatibility enables integration into professional Charge Point Management Systems (CSMS) pre-equipped for OCPP 2.0.1. Communication is via RS485, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or optionally 4G.

With an IP55 protection rating and IK10 shock resistance, the Sungrow AC22E-G2 is designed for the toughest conditions. The extended operating temperature range of -30°C to +50°C enables year-round outdoor use. Natural convection cooling is maintenance-free and silent. Comprehensive protection features such as AC 30 mA / DC 6 mA fault current detection, overload, overtemperature, overvoltage, and ground fault protection ensure maximum safety.
