Beijing ends subsidies for photovoltaic exports - module prices could rise by up to 15 percent.

On December 3rd and 4th, 2025, our team attended Solar Solutions Düsseldorf – the leading trade fair for renewable energy in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Demand for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is increasing significantly. Since August 1, 2025, new, reduced tariff rates have been in effect in Germany for photovoltaic systems with a capacity of up to 1 megawatt. The Federal Network Agency has adjusted the tariffs as part of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The goal is to continue to manage the dynamic expansion of solar energy and keep subsidy costs for electricity customers within limits.

Due to falling prices for solar technology and battery storage, as well as additional savings potential on electricity bills, investing in a private solar system is becoming increasingly attractive for households. A recent analysis shows that such systems can pay for themselves within five to ten years.

A groundbreaking ruling by the Dessau-Roßlau Regional Court has strengthened the position of allotment gardeners who want to install solar panels on their garden sheds to generate electricity. Although the ruling is not yet final and the losing allotment association can appeal, the German Environmental Aid (DUH) considers the decision a significant step forward for the energy transition.

Global solar energy is experiencing unprecedented growth, cementing its position as a leading force in the global energy mix. According to the latest report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), global renewable energy capacity reached an impressive 4,448 GW by the end of 2024, with solar accounting for the largest share at 1,865 GW.
